What happens when two old flames get together after many years of being apart? The revelation of a secret of course.  In the Name of Love is a well-written novel by author Ms. Sammie Ward

Derrick Rawlings moves back home to take over the family business after his father becomes ill.  Although going back home is the last thing he wants to do, he does so reluctantly, knowing that even though Mia was in his life, inevitably he will run into her.

Dr. Shari Thomas finally achieved her dream of becoming a doctor, even though no one in her family thought she would be able to. Spending most of her time with Kevin, and entertaining the thought of a serious relationship with a man that absolutely loves her son, Shari is shocked to learn that he is back in town.

It is at a fundraiser that Dr. Shari Thomas and Derrick Rawlings, old flames, come face to face.  They both still manage to have hot flashes in the presence of the other, however, Derrick’s cold demeanor towards Shari tugs at her heartstrings.  For Derrick is still bitter as he believes that Shari cheated on him some years earlier.

Soon Derrick finds out the secret that ties he and Shari together and In the Name of Love, the two attempt to re-light the fire that once burned between the two.  Of course love doesn’t come without consequence as outside forces attempt to ruin this reacquainted couple.

Ms. Sammie Ward does a good job at story telling, and gives the reader a vivid sense of being in the midst of the story, as a fly on the wall.

In the Name of Love is definitely a recommended read.  We look forward to more from this outstanding writer.
