A Moment of Justice, A Lifetime of Vengeance by John A. Wooden – ISBN: 0-9767404—0-0 – 316 pages – published by JBOW Productions – Paperback – Reviewed by Yolanda M. Johnson-Smith July 31, 2009 3 ½ Stars

Special Agent Kenny Carson lives for his work and soon finds himself on an assignment that will change his life forever. KC sets his sights on solving the case not knowing the true reason he was chosen.

Back in the day, the days of the Old Dirty South, the sight and smell of strange fruit was a common thing. It was a normalcy for ages, but something was different about this particular fruit.

Fifteen young white lads, those from the Old Dirty South, found it an honor and a sport to pick, choose and display such strange fruit. Only this time, they plucked the wrong fruit. The dismissed warnings to let this fruit pass. They felt it was their ancestral right to kill the dark crops of the South. Warnings fell upon unhearing ears; and unknowing eyes were unaware that they were being watched.

Twenty some odd years later, the crop, the sown crop, has come to pasture and one by one, the young white lads begin to reap what they have sown.

In A Moment of Justice, A Lifetime of Vengeance, Mr. Wooden’s main character, Special Agent Kenny Carson winds through twist and turns, mounds of evidence and clues in an effort to stop the reaping of the sown seeds and save the next victim from his just reward.

Even though he’s the best of the best, it soon becomes clear to him why out of other agents, he was specially chosen to solve the crime of the strange fruit.

Just when you thought you’ve figured it out, another twists knocks you off your feet and leaves you in awe.

John A. Wooden does a wonderful job of taking us through an assignment one of the FBI’s most successful agencies. A story told so vividly, definitely keeping you on the edge of your feet, you won’t want to put it down. You will definitely want more from this author.
